Tips to Making Your Child’s Dental Experience Enjoyable!

It is natural for young children to be anxious in their first visit, especially if they have had prior negative experiences or have heard negative comments about going to the dentist. Well, going to a Kid’s Dentist will make all the difference. There are several things you can do to help prepare your child for this day.

  •  It is best to let your child know that he or she is going to the kids’ dentist.
  • We believe that parents have a huge responsibility in their children’s oral health. Because of this, we always invite parents to come back to the exam room with their children and share the experience.
  • Parents should also try to avoid negative words when speaking about a trip to the dentist.
  • Please do not say, “Don’t worry!” or “It won’t hurt!”. It is better to say, “It will be easy!”
  • Let us do the talking. Sometimes parents try to talk to the child while the dentist is talking or demonstrating procedures. Children can get mixed signals. Try to permit the pediatric dentist to lead the child.
